1Sells / sharesstated
OpenAI states it does not "sell" personal data or "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising. But its 30 Apr 2026 policy update introduced advertising: it now receives purchase data from advertisers, shares limited data with marketing partners, and added ad-personalization controls for Free/Go users — an ad business that trades on information about you, even if it is not a direct sale of your data.

0API access — feeds Agent Readiness, not the /12stated
Exporting your ChatGPT history is a manual Settings → Data Controls request; the OpenAI API serves model inference, not programmatic retrieval of your own conversation history — so an agent can't connect to fetch it for you.
